The Great Desert Campout

Last year we made our first visit to southern Colorado and visited the Great Sand Dunes NM and Mesa Verde National Park.  We drove many miles through the best scenery Colorado has to offer IMHO. This year the mystery of the place and weather conditions in the north and mountain areas threatening snow we again motored south.  Here are maps of the trip.

Day1

With Illustrative Photos of Course! Or first night was at the Colorado NM near Grand Junction where, I purchased my Senior Access pass.  Sweet.

Colorado National Monument to Canyonlands

Day 3

Natural Bridges National Monument:

the next photos represent the natural bridge from a 1.5 mile hike down to the canyon floor that included 3 ladders and very hot sections of trail, meh.

Day 4

To the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP:

there is a tiny group of people standing on the center point, one is wearing a red t shirt.
